Mitch Bakker is an American industrial designer, entrepreneur, and writer whose career spans over two decades in the contract furniture industry. He is the founder and principal of IDA Design, an award-winning and internationally recognized design firm based in Western Michigan. Prior to establishing IDA Design, Mitch served as head of product design for leading furniture manufacturers, equipping him with a deep understanding of aligning client goals with design vision. 
Mitch’s design philosophy emphasizes distilling concepts to their essence, focusing on what matters most and discarding the rest. He finds beauty in the voids—the spaces between questions and doubts, truth and answers. 
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mitch has engaged in volunteer work in Zambia, Haiti, and Jamaica, deepening his commitment to social justice. He also teaches in a local prison, fostering redemptive stories among inmates.
