Joachim Jensen

Joachim Jensen is a Norwegian-born industrial designer celebrated for his minimalist, ergonomic furniture that bridges Scandinavian heritage with American sensibility. Raised in Oslo, he relocated to the United States to study industrial design and has since established his home and studio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jensen’s work emphasizes simplicity, balance, and functionality, drawing inspiration from the harmony found within contrasts. His studio, housed in a repurposed elementary school, serves as a creative hub where he develops seating collections that prioritize comfort and refined aesthetics. Notable designs include the Bøtte, CrissCross, Fjord, and Lore collections for Source International, each reflecting his commitment to clean lines and thoughtful craftsmanship.
