Andreas Ostwald

Andreas Ostwald is a distinguished industrial designer renowned for his pursuit of aesthetic perfection and innovative design solutions. Following an apprenticeship as a ceramic modeller, he studied Industrial Design in Kiel, Germany. In 1996, he founded Ostwalddesign Studio, focusing on creating unique products that harmonize form, function, and environmental respect. Ostwald’s philosophy centers on achieving aesthetic perfection through absolute proportions, ensuring each design is in harmonious relationship with its details and surroundings. His commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in his collaborations with brands like Infiniti and Casala, where he designed the Next Chair and the Centuro Chair, respectively. Beyond his design practice, Ostwald has contributed to academia, teaching at institutions such as the Muthesius Hochschule in Kiel and the University of the Arts Bremen.
